Hey,

i have finally set up windows 98 on my newly built pc and am just about setting up the 2nd hard drivee. However there are 2 things that are still little problems.

When i boot the computer after POST it comes up with searching for IDE drives. . . ..........

then it always says no disk array defined.

what is this? and how do i stop it from happening cause it takes ages to do.

Also when i am in windows 98, ive installed my ADSL modem, however when i plug it into the USB port so the driver information database can be built etc the blue screen of death comes up during that process.

how can i resolve this because i need to get on the inet to download other drivers for my graphics card etc?!

thanks

jonny

Well the "no with searching for IDE drives. . . ..........

then it always says no disk array defined."

indicates that you are set up in your bios orHD to IDE cable to MB connection to boot or use an onboard RAID controller. Go in to your Motherboard manual and check on what connectors and what settings you are to use for a non-raid setup. That should fix your problem. List more details about your MB, and I am sure you will get more detailed info from someone with a like setup.
