ok didnt think so thx redneck, im getting a SOLTEK SL-75KAV VIA KT133A AMD Athlon & Duron SDRAM 200/266MHz FSB Socket A ATX simply because it supports both ddr and sdram and seeing on how my psu/mobo got fried during a lightning storm i cant get ddr yet.... one more thing what about a 1800+ 1.53 ghz?? and what type of heat sink/fan shuld i get (nust be inder 30 maybe a bit over)
p.s its funny when some1 you know replys to your post:D :D :D

hmm never used a soltek board so i cant say much about them the 1800+ probably wont overclock to the same speed as the 1600+ so just get the 1600 it is cheaper too. for a heatsink just get a thermal right AX-7 with a high powered fan

Any KT133A board will not be able to support DDR RAM and PC133. DDR RAM is 184-pin DIMM slot and PC133 is 168-pin DIMM. Any board that supports both would have to have slots of both types.
Right now the only boards that support both are the A7A266, Shuttle AK32L and the ECS K7S5A.

I would think the "XP" in athlon XP would make it apparent it was designed for and testing on a Windows XP system. My friend was intrested and attempted running XP, ME, 98, 95, and 3.1 to see if it made a stablity difference. Anyways no it can run on anything, except those whack mac o/s's... I think... :D
