I have a new refurbished motherboard (Abit VH6T) and a new 1.3 Tualatin CPU, which I cannot get to boot. The 1.3 CPU works in my sig VH6T, so I know that it is not the CPU. I tried putting my sig 1.1A into the new VH6T, but it will not boot at all. Just beeps and the screen never turns on.

I think I know what the problem is, but I do not know how to fix it. I think that the BIOS is too old to recognize the Tualatin CPU's; however, I cannot get the computer to boot so that I can flash a newer BIOS. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions??

No, I do not have any other socket 370 CPU's that I can use to get the mobo to boot. I think that this may be the only solution. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions??

are the beeps your standard boot up beeps? Double check that your video card is correctly fit into the motherboard - this stupid little mistake took me about an hour to figure out (and I was worried I had broken something the whole time). it was booting up each time but didn't appear to be booting up because there was no visual display.

Based on reading some older threads in this forum, I have mananged to do a "Hot Swap" of the BIOS chips, so that I could flash the older chip with the new BIOS.

My new mobo and CPU will now boot into the BIOS and will try to start loading W2K. The problem now is that it crashes while trying to load windows. I get the blue screen with a big long error message. Do you think that I am going to have to format the harddrive and reinstall W2K??? My old board was a BX440 slot 1 (or something like that).

Any ideas would be appreciated before I proceed with formatting the HD. Thanks.
