I ordered a K7D Master yesterday... from what people have said it is probably the best board to buy.

The MPX boards, at stock speeds, all perform about the same. The distingushing features are pretty much only what is included (onboard sound, LAN, working onboard USB, etc) and overclocking/tweaking options. If you just want a board to run your processors stock, the Tyan boards are just fine.
As far as OC options go, the MSI is king, for now.

what about stability...are the boards about equal or am i going to have problems with the mobo giving me fuss?
and the main reason i was leaning toward tyan is b/c of the onboard stuff...if its going to be a svr im not really gonna care how awesome the sound quality is.....

The K7D has onboard sound and the K7D-L has onboard sound and LAN, so it's just as good as the Tiger MPX as far as onboard stuff goes. The Thunder K7X has onboard SCSI and dual NICs and onboard ATI Rage XL graphics, but that board is in a different price class.
As for stability I can attest to the stability of the MSI. I have not had one crash, application lockup, or BSOD in 2.5 months of running 24/7 at full load (Folding@Home).

The only way I can think of of breaking a Tyan is with a nuke. Seriously. There like Chevys or Toyotas. :)
I have a tyan tiger and its rock solid. The only thing i dislike about it is lack of o/c ing options. If I were to buy a mobo now I would go w/ an MSI.

I've also got a Tyan MP and have been very successful overclocking with "CPU FSB" I've had both XPs and Morgan core DURONs running stable at 150FSB, not much as far as other tweaks go however.
I've had more success with my Tyan than my ASUS A7M266-D which has only been able to get in the 143MHz FSB range with the same XPs and still be stable.
Although neither have performed on the level of my 8KHA+ boards, both have been rock stable and I can't complain about either one of them.
Good Luck
