View Full Version : JHU - New Folder
while at a doctors appointment at johns hopkins hospital i got a computer folding for the boss to review. if all goes well perhaps a couple more machines can be added in the section where i was. if things go really well then the entirety of johns hopkins could be added. this is a longshot though. at least we got 1 rig up under the name though :)

would it be alright if i did this with my school, um without telling them? i can hide the program, but what if they find it (not really likely) and see the team 32 and all and rat us out? i want to do this but im not sure if it is a good idea
sorry for taking the thread i probably sould have made my own lol:D
it would probably be best to tell your school. if you didnt the proxy they use would probably block the clients anyway.

and if i happened to know the proxies?:D
tell ya what. iam going over to the f@h forums to ask about any possible security risks. i dont think there are but i wish to ask the people who actually write the code. now if you just leave port 8080 open that might not be such a good thing. but allowing traffic only too and from the stanford servers would probably be the solution. go over here:

if they answer that f@h is by nature secure, then i would go for it. all those computers sitting there doing nothing all day is pretty wastful. they might be contributing to The Cause (c) :)
Always get permision!!!
The last thing I or anyone else on the team wants to see is someone getting in trouble.
Sorry but It had to be said:D
WTG on the addition to the team. Keep up the good work:clap:

Good point. Nobody wants to see anyone going to jail (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/23477.html)
but it would be sweet to have an entire university folding :)
