View Full Version : New XP processors mean new motherboards?
When the FSB increased from 100 to 133, it meant anyone who wanted an XP processor would have to upgrade their motherboard, now that it's going from 133 to 166, will we have to upgrade our motherboards again?
OR! Can we just overclock our FSB to 166?

It depends. If you have a KT266/A mobo with only a 1/4 divider, you may have probs running at FSB166. With the KT333 mobo this is not an issue, although, it would be nice if these boards had a 1/6 divider!

isnt the doesnt the 8k3a have a 6:1 divider...with the newest bios? if not i know the 8k5a2+ and the 8k5a3+ have em
When the Tbirds were released with the 133 FSB there were also the 100 MHz parts at the same speeds. I hope there will be also the new Tbreads at 133.
