Very much so if you can afford it. The 4200 is easily a 10K+ 3dmark capable card, if you do it right you might hit 11K or more, and is fully DX8.1 compliant. MX440 tops out around 7K, and it's not fully DX8 compatible.

hmmm, well the gainward 4200 is directX 8, and of course the MX is only DX 7.

there's a couple different flavors of the 4200. two 64 meg versions, one with 3.5 ns RAM, another with 3.3 ns. Both have 500 mhz memory. Then there's a 128 meg version with 4 ns RAM running at 444 mhz. It's kind of a trade off between speed and size.

I would definitely get a 4200 over a GF4 MX, but only if I had something less. If you can either return the MX or sell it and get most of what you paid, I'd say go for it.

im running my GF4 Ti4200 stock right now. I got 10159 3dmarks with no OC on core/memory. I love my GF4 Ti4200...I built my dads computer and it has a MSI GF4 MX460 VTD and it only got 5000-6000 3d marks..in my opinion, MX's suck, i would never buy one.
