I purchased an early 1.8 Gig Northwood (Malaysia, 46 week, 2001) last January. It ran 100% stable (Prime & SETI) since then at 130 MHz FSB (2.34 Gig) on a TH7II. It took 1.75 volts to achieve stability. Using a Swiftech MCX-478 with a quieter Delta HHE fan, it seemed to typically run in the mid 130 degrees F with 100% CPU load from SETI. I could not squeeze one more hertz of performance out of it without some degree of instability becomming apparent.
I just replaced it with a 2.0 Gig Northwood (Phillipine, 22 week, 2002). I have it running, 100% stable, at 130 MHz FSB (2.6 Gig) and 1.725 volts. At this voltage and speed it also runs in the mid 130's (100% CPU load) but becomes very unstable if I raise the FSB to 133 MHz. I will try a higher voltage and 133 MHz again at a later time.
I hope someone might find this comparison interesting.
