IO am trying to go as cheap as possible
XP 1600 oem new $59.99 + 3 shipping
Athlon 1.33 266 buss $48 refurbished
Either of these cpu's will get put on a KG7 raid for second system.
which cpu to buy, If I take the Athlon I pay no shipping for board and cpu but both are refurbished

Stock, overclocked? Overclocked to what point? For 10 bucks, mine as well go for the XP. It will overclock much better if that's a thing you need, and it'll put out less heat so your wife doesn't have to hear your fans! :D

UH, how in the world do you refurbish a CPU?
Go for the XP those 1600 are really good overclockers plus put out a little less heat. At newegg refurbished is just returned I believe. and if it doesn't work send it back and they send you a new one. Good luck on your new rig:) Oh and for the KG7 go here (http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kg7kr7/kg7kr7faq.htm) . that is one of the best sites for info on the KG7:)

Hmmmm used and returned? Bent a pin and they bent it back and tested and it works? Who knows. What's a real mystery is a refurbed tube of AS, heh!
