IO am trying to go as cheap as possible

XP 1600 oem new $59.99 + 3 shipping
Athlon 1.33 266 buss $48 refurbished


Either of these cpu's will get put on a KG7 raid for second system.

which cpu to buy, If I take the Athlon I pay no shipping for board and cpu but both are refurbished

Stock, overclocked? Overclocked to what point? For 10 bucks, mine as well go for the XP. It will overclock much better if that's a thing you need, and it'll put out less heat so your wife doesn't have to hear your fans! :D

Go for the XP those 1600 are really good overclockers plus put out a little less heat. At newegg refurbished is just returned I believe. and if it doesn't work send it back and they send you a new one. Good luck on your new rig:) Oh and for the KG7 go here (http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kg7kr7/kg7kr7faq.htm) . that is one of the best sites for info on the KG7:)

Hmmmm used and returned? Bent a pin and they bent it back and tested and it works? Who knows. What's a real mystery is a refurbed tube of AS, heh!

gonna just get the board for now then cpu, they will come up again I am sure at the same price or less, but then again maybe I will order , decisions decisions and so on mo money!!!!!!
