Yes.
I have a bad socket connection (the thing in the wall where the plug goses in ;) ) and sometimes I have to jiggle it a little to get it right.

Its using the same phone jack that my dialup has been using, so that shouldnt be a problem. Unless its just really freaking picky;)

Hmm, speaking of dialup i cant connect at over 26.4 tonight, i usually get around 48.8. Could that be due to linenoise from the DSL, its on the same line and theres no filter on it. If so that would mean i SHOULD be able to get it synced up no?
EDIT: i did some checking, and i have determined that it IS hooked up. On the line the DSL is on my dialup is stuck at 26-28. On the other line it connects at 48 like it should. I think i just need to update the firmware on my modem and maybe change some of the settings on it.

yeah I had some connectivity problems when I setup my DSL. Turns out after placing relatively few phone calls(in relation to my cable modem problems) that they wired up the conection wrong and had rewire it. Ironically I was driving home one day and had to drive around some wrokers working on the telephone lines. I got home about 5 minutes later and my dsl had connectivity. As to you dialup you might want to attach a filter to that line and see if that helps any... other than that I dont know much about it other than it works.
