Hey guys I just finished my very first custom window job on my new case. I have installed a window before but it was a crappy pcmods.com kit. This time I measured (3x :) ) and cut my own hole, plexi, and mounted it. The project took about 2.5 hours start to finish and came out pretty well I must say. The case is 27" high and 18" long....so its a monster :D
Without further ado, here are the pics!
Measured and masked off...

Ah... crackers.... (in the picture).
I wouldn't dare doing somethign like that in my room!
Doesn't that throw stuff everywhere?
I"ve cut heatsinks and my side pannel before and I always went out to our shop, or in the driveway.

Hole cut and window mounted...I also sanded the back of the panel to a brushed aluminum finish for optimal light reflection....

The door won't close because the plexi doesn't clear the support beam in the frame (or the PSU rack)!

So I had to dremel out that sucker and take a quarter inch off the PSU rack. Fits nicely now!

basically I just cut out that support bar that runs across.
and the L-shaped PSU brace was about a quarter inch too long so i dremeled that out.

k thanks alot. Has your case felt a little more wobbly or anything?

not at all, its very sturdy, just as much as before. I mean, I don't plan to stand on my case so it really doesn't need to be load-bearing. (although upon checking it out I did actually sit on my case with no ill effects :) )

well I modded my IMT minion case (ghetto) to have a window (pcmods.com rectangle kit [boring]) and I dremeled a 120mm fan hole in the plexi and mounted that with a grill, and a 92mm in the front for intake and a grill there too. Had a blue cath in there too.
So this is my first attempt at a 'professional' mod. The other one was low-budget and short on time spent/preparation.
