orb help

my new orb doesnt fit rite on my t-bird. all it did was chip more off the top of my t-bird. thats not a good sound. well any way, its like if the mounting isnt rite or sumthing. any one have thsi problem

Which mobo are you using?

hope its not a gold orb that hsf is for intel (lower profile) i would suggest that you look at another hsf thermaltake is notorious for poor performance and breaking cpu`s i own two and both are sh_ _

? If your orb (I assume it is a GORB) is the correct model for your cpu and mobo, the trouble usually lies with the latch down mechinism snagging onto the bottom of the cooling fins. If this is the case, you can either remove some material off the fins to provide more clearance. Or what I do is place a small flatblade screwdriver between the base of the fins and the latch down mechinism. Making sure that the mechinism isn't going to snag any of the fins. Also, make sure you are twisting the ORB in the proper direction to install it. I know this sounds very elementary, but I have seen many people make this fatal mistake by using excessive force only to crack their cpu. OUCH !
