heres what i plan: i have a knockoff blorb and plan on attaching it to the back of my vid card where the gpu is. yes i know, i've been told this would be useless or not very effective and it would be best to put it on the front of the card. and i'm doing that, i've got one to go there too.
the card is an aiw 7500 (read low fps) and cant take much of an oc with the stock cooling. after gaming for a while the back of the card at the gpu is pretty hot, and i figure that where theres heat theres a place you can get rid of it.
the problem: the back of the card isnt all nice and flat the way a chip is so the heatsink cant make a very good contact. really not much of a contact at al, i need a way to transfer the heat from the card to the heatsink. a dist <=1mm i think. what do you reccomend?
the other fun stuff: anyone whos seen this card knows there isnt much room on them. the gpu is pretty close to the socket and that means i've had to dremel off some of the fins of the hs to get it to fit on the back of the card. on the front i'll have to do it to both sides (really leaving about 1/4 of the original fins... doesnt make much sense now but the fan on these is a lot better so should be at least as effective) , fortunately there is just, JUST, enough room for the fan between the socket and the aiw bits on the card. also, the fans are 12v. the card doesnt put out 12v, yay more wires to string all over my case.
