with no pending requirments of fat32 being needed by you, ntfs is better in every way. search the forum for threeads on ntfs and fat32
If you don't need FAT32, don't use it. You only need it if you have other OSs on your system that would need to read that partition. Go w/ NTFS. It's faster and more stable in every way! :)
not only being faster, it doesn't fragment like Fat 32 does.
but it does seem to use up alot more space with index service, but it could just be XP also??? I'm not sure.
well, i've always used fat32. However, with all the ntfs security features, and me learning about os's, i'm going to use ntfs since i have some experience with it from school and work and stuff.
I'm going to be using the ntfs on win2k advanced server, and then install linux on another partition. I don't need linux to see the fat32, because i'll either have a 3rd partition with the universal files, or another hd with the universal files. I'm still deciding.
Also, ntfs is prone to be harder to, what's the word, debug. Like dos is a big tool techs use to fix windows, but dos wont read ntfs, even though you can use something called ntfsdos. Also, you can always install the recovery console. What i'm basically saying is, learn about ntfs before you install it and how you can fix your windows if something goes bad. Best of luck to you.
