I was wondering which of these Alpha heatsinks would be better :
The PAL6035
or
The PEP66

Which would be better for the pentium 3 FCPGA and i would also like the differences between these 2 models.

go read some reviews, this site has some on both. Also http://www.2cooltek.com and http://www.hardocp.com are just a couple that have reviews of these two and others. I have the PEP66 on a T-Bird with the top-mount mod and it works great, but I haven't tried the PAL and I don't have a P3. I think http://www.overclockedcafe.com may have a review on these two as well...

PEP66- Larger fin area, fan orientented for slocket usage (i.e. fan officially sits on the side of the HS) However this can be modded so it sits up straight or as someone did stuck two fans one sucking the other blowing. There was an article on the front page about it (before xmas?).

PAL6035- Smaller sink, fan orientation the traditional way- ie sitting square on top of the sink.

The PEP is the better 'Sink, as it's larger and naturally has a bigger surface area.
