View Full Version : Flowrate
I am currently building my own watercooling system but so far I have a problem, the water is only drisling into my res. What could be wrong? There is no air in it either. Can the be a problem with the Waterblock?
i would say its one of two things:
1) There is air in the radiator (it reduced my flowrate by a bit when it happened to me)
2) The pump is pumping the water too high, and is losing nearly all of its flowrate in the process

If you haven't already, setup your res so it's higher than pump (at least long enough to prime the pump).
When I've had to drain mine, I usually turn the pump on and off a few times to help with the prime until I see the flow is good enough to build up on its own.
There was a little air in the radiator but the flow is so slow, its dripping out sometimes drisling thats how slow. I think it might be the waterblock because I had a friend make it, I didn't buy it. The path is about 5\16" deep and 1\4" narrow, I am also running 1\2" tube to it.
I just bought a new Maze 2 waterblock in should come in within 2-5 days, I have a Maxi-Jet 1200 pump which can pump 69inches high. I made it pump about 3 feet high and there was no problem with the flowrate.

1/4" narrow flowpath is killing you, trust me ;)
