Oh yah

Do a 'dry run'

Mount the volcano 7+ with thermal paste on your p4 and then remove it. Now look at the thermal imprint that the P4 Integrated heatspreader left on the Volcano 7+

If it doesnt make full contact turn the heatsink 180 degrees and try it again.

ALSO MAKE SURE THE MOBO socket 478 pushpins are all the way down.

Hook it to the m/b header, this passes the rpm signal to the bios. The Asus will error out every boot without it.

I believe it is a motherboard header interface, so you can use MBM or BIOS to look at Fan Speeds.

where is the header located? I am too lazy to find the manual to look it up

Seriously Man...Keep your computer close but your Mobo manual closer. READ THAT MANUAL. You should have read that thing before assembling your computer in the first place. Usually the HSF header is the closest 3-pin to the cpu. I had to waste my four star post to tell you how to read....I'm into helping but jes man....
