There is no difference except AMD was using a bit different material on that chip, but the core is the same on both so no worries. Except there are some green's that have a clear coat on the L1s so it may requiere sanding to get rid of it and get a good unlock

If it's green, then there's a clear coating on the points. you'll need to remove it to enable the defogger paint to make proper contact with the bridges.

what's the best way to remove the coating?

Hmm, well I never heard of this so I never sanded my green XP, but my unlock did work... What I did was use a pin or needle to 'scrape' the bridges before applying the conductive grease. I do this clear coat or not, it just kinda ensures a good connection. Then I also try to push the conductive stuff into the bridge, I don't just lay it on there. I rub it in, make sure it's connecting.

thanks guys i will some de fogger paint later today, but before i start what would i have to do wrond to kill my cpu?
that's the only thing stopping me right now. i'm plannig on using krazy glue then the defogger paint, i'm gonna use toms hardware's video as refrence.
any suggestions
Thanks again, Digital
You kind of answered your own question ;) If you do something horribly wrong you will kill it. But I couldn't imagine you like whipping defogger kit all over the place hehe.
Anyways, as mentioned the color mean nothing except that the green have a coat. Use a very high grit preferably 1000-2000 grit sandpaper to clean it off. The high grits can probably take off a scratch off a Mercedes Benz but still leave the paint.
