I found this SuperMicro Board @ NewEgg, (nope, I ain't buyin it, look at the price). It says it comes with Virtual Extended Bus. Is this an extended AGP slot or EISA or VL-B??????

Nope, none of the above. Its not an AGP since the i7500 chipset has no support for AGP, and the slot isnīt positioned right. EISA and VLB are oooooold and the both has the same type of design as the ISA.
I have been thinking about this also, but I couldnīt find anything that would fit in this slot. It has many pins in it, maybe its an 128-bit slot?

I think this slot is a host channel adapter for clustering servers with the infinniband architecture - what it means? fast. A way around the 566 MB/sec shared bandwidth top of PCI. but of little use to you or I, at this point, its for the big boys. like I said, I think!

Yes it is true, its a bus for an Infiniband host adapter. I did some reading in this matter.

The VXB bus talks directly to the CPU and memory, thus eliminating the PCI interface. This means 2.5 Gb/s if I understand this correct. Propably the VXB bus is pretty new since all Infiniband host adapters I found have the PCI bus. Most webpages about the Infiniband system describes the system in total rather than the parts it is made of. Yeah clearly big boy stuff.

The holy grail super-expensive dual Xeon mobo we all want is merely a tiny tiny part of systems with hundreds of these. Actually some Infiniband host adapters have onboard Xeon 2.2 Ghz cpu and 1 gig ram!!!

Read more about Infiniband + a good link collection: http://www.storagesearch.com/infiniband.html

Sorta makes my idea of clustering a dozen of these ole socket 7 MoBo's seem futile, and they don't make very good book-ends!!!
now what will I do with them?

LOL! :D
An excellent use for these ól mobos/cpus is printer server or firewall.
