I posted in the Nertworking forum but no one seems eager to answer... I need to share my dial up connection so i can have 2 computers folding. I had DSL but i cancelled my account because of newly implemented caps by Sympatico. I cant figure out how to share my dial up connection. I have a Linksys router and my 2 computers are hooked up and theres no problem with that, all i need is to share my conn. I looked at the FAQ but it doesnt say anything on sharing dial up. Is anyone doing it and could help me out? I dont wanna lose a folder!!! Theres already a WU ready to be sent but its just sitting there waiting...

what OS are you using?

does the net connection come in via the router? or does it go to one computer and then the two PC's are linked via the router?

EDIT: never mind. i just read your sig. :p

if the net connection comes into a computer then out to the router-
on the machine the with the net connection, go to start-->my network places.
on the left hand side you will see, "set up a home or small office network"
click it.
just follow the prompts, it is pretty simple.

then use your xp cdrom to setup the other machine.(it tells you how when you setup the first machine) as the client.
make sure you do what it tells you to do and you shouldn't have any problems.

if the other machine is running 2k, you won't be able to use the cdrom to set it up. you'll have to do it manually. rather than go into all the details now, post back if the other machine is using 2k.

if the net connection comes in via the router, then i'm not sure.
i've never used a router. i use a hub. :D

i've got three machines all sharing the same connection and this is how i set them up. it hasn't failed me yet. in fact i've never had windows ICS fail me.

bah!

Stupid Sygate firewall was blocking the connection for some reason although it was setup to allow sharing... Thanks for all the help guys and sorry to bother you with this.
