Dude, i send Dell my broken Geforce 2, and get a different card back???

I call Dell up last Friday because my fan on my GeForce 2 Ultra was making noise and going bad...

I thought it was a hard drive at first :), it sounded like a bad SCSi..

Well, at first they go, well we can send you a GeForce 2 MX...

I was like the Hell you are... Anyways, its Monday, 1 business day later, and i just popped in my brand new GeForce 3 Ti500

Wow, i know its a dell and won't have much overclock in it, but thats a huge upgrade, infact it beats my current rigs Video Card..

This computer is my fiances... Do you think i should switch it before she finds out, she will never know anyways :)

Now i am glad i took out the warranty

Cool. Dell probably gave away the gf3 because they were out of the older gf2 cards. As for STEALING your fiance's video card... do what you feel is best. :D

Whatch out...... if your card dies........ and she calls it in- they will say- srry madam, but thats not the replacment card, your warrently is void.,........... they did it to me 3 times when i replaced the cpu cooler with a fan!

but Dell sometimes uses stripped versions of the gf3. in a review of a Dell p4/SDRAM system awhile ago, the gf3 in it was 20% slower than a retail gf3 from a regular company (ie Gainward)

I can't believe you got jeered for being "thiefs and dope heads", though. Matter of fact, I think I was wrapped up in that too, by the wording. If you find another forum that is as actively monitered, and has such a helpful atmosphere, then more power to you. But to call everyone "dope heads" is just absurd. No one committed murder. No one is discussing hacking or piracy. He SWITCHED video cards (you think he'll get his cd's back if they break up??). If you think that it's horrible, that's fine. You would be better served by showing some restraint, however.

you spelled site wrong. sight refrences vision. site refrences a physical location (or web location).

and this isnt stealing. its a playful thread, and i would keep the gf3 anyway. its HIS G/F and if shes not gonna use it, there is no reason not to "borrow" it.

and i guess u went into the debates thread, and say some of the debates in there.
because someone supports legalization or whatever, or smokes a particular species of vegitation, doesnt make them a "dope head". what u do isnt necessarily the right thing to do in life, and dope head is an impolite term intending to make u feel like your better than other people.

Charles.... I aint mad at ya.... Everyone is entitled to there opinions....
First, the video card and computer was purchased by me... my money...
I then met my fiance... and decided that she could have my Dell to use, while i would build another comp for me... Those computers are still in my apartment.. theoretically she just uses it... This post was started as a fun little discussion... I do not lie to my fiance, nor will I... In fact she knows that I got a new video card and didn't ask if she was getting it or if i was keeping it, she does not care... She cares about things like cleaning the toilet after i pee on it in the middle of the night and stuff like that :)

And about the Dopehead... I assume that this was because of my avatar.... Well i will be honest with you.. I choose not to do that stuff anymore... but i see nothing wrong with it... thats why i still have the Avatar..

And by the way, i think of myself as a good Christian.. Don't get me wrong i Sin all the time.... But a little grass is no worse then beer IMHO

I swap parts in and out of my fiances comp all the time.....is it stealing? NO!

I built her the damn computer......it started out as a 366 Celly,64 megs of ram, no sound, and an 8 meg ATI card.

Now its a 600 Celly @ 1050 mhz, Radeon 7200,256 megs pc133....etc...

If i wanna rip her comp all apart and turn it into a DX4 100 mhz, i will.........its my comp....she just uses it

Hell no i would never do a thing like that !!! Please do not paint others with the same brush....stealing from family and friends and more importantly from the woman you love ( not to mention once your married it's half yours anyway....and if you have been living together for 6 months or longer without a tenancy document stating she pays you rent and of course you give receipts for it then she your common law wife and the above still applies) Any way back to my point.......i would drive to another town a rob a nice big house and use the money i make to buy a nice new GF4 4600 ti. So please common guys don't paint me in the same light as other!!!!
