I'm askin because I'm (finally) getting the hardware for my Mini LAN rig and I have limited space for cooling.
I'm going to try and fit an AX-7, but with limited space that will be kind of tough...

I believe it is easier to cool the XP. If you dont OC much, the XP will run quite cool.

Actually according to THIS, (http://www.benchtest.com/calc.html)the Duron runs on less stock voltage.

Why yes they may but I believe the CORE size on the XP is larger that the core on the Duron, making it easier to cool.

i'm not too sure about that, wasnt the morgan core Durons the same size as the XP cores? i thought so at least.... if the core sizes are the same, the Duron should cool easier, if the Duron core size is by my calculations, more than 18% smaller or more, then the XP would cool better.

Oh well, since I put a window RIGHT over the CPU socket I'll just be cutting a fan hole into it to mount the CPU fan. So my worries about the fan choking are gone now...
Thanks anyways guys! It's the $60 XP for me this birfday!
Plenty of power of a secondary rig :D

you can undervolt 1600+ to almost 1.5v(iv done 1.5 stable) and that reduces to almost 40watts instead of 60

the Spitfire Duron core was smaller the Athlon core, the Morgan core is the same as the XP core. at least that's the way i understood it.

That's very nice to know and I wish I knew that a week ago... BUt I have something special plan to sole power consumption issues, and everyone will just have to wait and see what I'm up to. :D
