WC3 rules!

But it is really hard for me to get any good online games in becuase of an error that crashes me out of it. Here is what the message says:

FATAL ERROR!

SO....
What the heck should I do to fix this?

I wish I could help you but I don't have the game. But, I've heard of a few others that have had this problem. I'd suggest you post in the Games section and see what they find out or better yet, use the search function.

Because I am not too hot on error messages, I shall answer a question with a question!

This could be screwed (or about to be) RAM... see if it is the same numbers... If it is, ram dyin' on ya, if not, CPU or software.

It sounds like there is a bad sector in your RAM and the game keeps tring to access it.
Prolly gonna have to go get new RAM.

I highly doubt anything is wrong. Many others have had problems with war3 too. Copy the error and do a google search on it. If that isn't fruitful, email blizzard (everyone forgets that one!).

And yes, war3 0wnz j00! I still think sc was better, but I'm addicted to war3 now :D

It's your ram not playing well with the game. I used to get it a lot when I was downloading maps and people banned me.

On my new system now, I never get it.

get memtest86 and test the memory. if it develops errors (which it will, im 99% sure its your memory), post back and well fix it up

I think you're just running your RAM too agressively. I clocked my back to 2.5-3-3-6-2 and I haven't had a problem for a while. I still have to experiment to see if I can raise it a bit more, however.

Bah, many months later I finally got War3 and it will not start. I get the acess error at 0x00000000 whatever error just like the original guy had. It is not my memory.

Anyone ever get a fix? Google is coming up short:(

The second step, where you turn down the acceleration, solved my problem.

I fixed it. Apparently a new update to dx9 came out. I uninstalled my old GF3 drivers, updated dx through winupdate, and installed the newest gfx drivers (apparently a new rev came out really recently).

Works fine now, after many hours of playing with fsb speeds and voltages =(

Whats OS do ya have? Its not win98 is it? Every puter ive put that virus on its always had read mem errors, fatal errors and all that other b.s. (Illgal operations was blown out proportion in 98)

i have that problem on winxp but when i was uninsatll nimo codec pack
game was working

Nope, winXP. And all of the dozens of other games I play (bf1942, UT2k3 C&C Generals, Splinter Cell, Starcraft, ect.) worked fine. Updated video drivers and the newest DX9 patch fixed it.

Oh I dont use Nimo, I install all my codec's separately. I keep a folder in my downloads directory just for codec's (and there are a lot of them:))

wc3 is a strange game
many my friends have trouble with wc3
one guy didn't know what to do and he was flashing BIOS
after that wc3 works :)

Im my case if i got that same message with war III it would mean prime would fail within a 1-3 hour time period. I just backed down my system found a setting that would run prime for 24 hours and than that war III error was sucking it from where ever it spawned. AAAHHHHHHHHH! I got over 15 disconnect cause of this untill i figured out what the problem was. But my record sucks so bad I really don't mind the loses its just sometimes bad to show your arrange teamates your below 40% win ratio. Its a great confidence builder. :D

but i was in first 100 on the batllnet in 3v3 arranged :)
