I just got my watercooling setup at which point I went into BIOS to overclock my cpu which was currently clocked at stock speeds of 1Ghz. I easily got it to run at 1.4Ghz but when i got into WinXP, the desktop and games would stutter and once in a while it would give me the nv4_disp BSOD. I read the forums here and it stated that i needed to reduce CPU or video card speeds if they were overclocked.
Right now I am at 1.2Ghz with my video fairly stable, no more BSOD so far (i hope). But it is ridiculous that I cannot O/C my CPU anymore than +200Mhz. Is there any fix for this?

r u try increase the voltage? i think if your voltage raise up with your o/c speed together, its improve your stability. but i must to warn u: "sometimes more voltage = fried cpu :("
if your cpu tolerate higher voltages and cooled enough, u can o/c +400mhz i think

Wow, a voltmod on the CPU? Last time i tried that through BIOS i got a fried motherboard and CPU. I dont know why that happened but it did. I think I will stick with this right now, maybe buy a cpu lol. THNX.
I think you need to get your temps down...
That higher that temp is the less you will be able to overclock...
Ive had a AXIA cored 1gig, I got it to do 1.5//but my ram couldnt take it so it stayed around 1.4...
48C idle is a little to high for an idle temp...
Oh and upping teh voltage a little is fine as long as your temps are good before and after the increase, frying a cpu from voltage increase through the BIOs is a VERY rare thing...Ive seen thunderbirds takeing 2.0 volts...

Well, the infinite loop error is gone for now cause i reduced the the speed of the CPU from 1.4 to 1.2 . I read that the infiite loop error occurs because of excessive overclocking speeds for either the video card or the cpu. Since i left the card at stock speeds, i reduced the cpu speed and now it seems to have gone away.
How can i now overclock my cpu cause i can easily get it to 1.5, but it seems as tho my video card can't take it or something. What can i do?
Angry: Those are motherboard temps from my Asus A7V133 which is known to report 5-10C higher temps than real, assuming the least (5C), it would mean that the idle would be 43C, not 48C ;)
I know that this AXIA can go higher, what i dont understand is why does it need an increase in voltage by a mere 200Mhz+ Overclock? Most people dont increase voltage until 400Mhz+ right?
Its just odd. So what you are saying is that i NEED to increase voltage to cpu so that desktop and 3dapplications (video) and cpu will be stable?

Try down clocking your video card, then try overclocking your cpu.
Also, look for any other method of reducing video card bus speed in the bios. Sounds to me like your video card and winXP don’t like this overclock.

I can't down clock the video card cause when i incresed to 1.4Ghz, it was at stock speeds.
i can't downgrade the bus speed in BIOS. The first person that replied said that i needed to increase vcore to the CPU, do i need to do that?

yes, not having enough power causes a lot of instability when overclocking...however, i would make sure your waterblock clamp and ASII is doing its job because 43C is too high for water at idle speeds with no uppage of voltage...

Thnx funnyperson. For some reason, last time i went into BIOS and changed voltage, my motherboard and CPU fried on me which is why I am kinda reluctant to increase it again. 43C seems normal for idle speeds when overclocked doesn't it? Plus, I am not sure it is 43C at all, it could be as low at 38C (with the factor of +10C mobo temps).
The clamp is on pretty tight, more than finger tight and i used a very small amount of ASIII to create a thin layer....
How would I go about increasing the voltage to the cpu with the A7V133 ?
