Title says it all. I recently purchased a 1.8a and a BD7 using the stock cooler for the moment. I was wondering how much thermal grease i should use and where on the heat spreader on the P4 should I apply it? Should I only apply it in the center area of the spreader or should I try to cover the whole thing? I know that I shouldn't use an excessive amount of the grease regardless of the type. Thanks for the help!!

first though before doing any of this clean both the hsf and the cpu with alcohol. you want to put a plastic baggie or glove on your hand then squeeze some as3 on a peice of paper or something and with the glove on take a tiny bit like half a drop from the paper and rub it around the core of the cpu (the whole heatspreader). then take a credit card and smooth down the as3 on the core and make a very nice thin layer then mount your hsf on with as little movement as possible and your done. for the detailed instructions please visit www.articsilver.com.

Thanks for the link. Very helpful and very informative. I am hoping to successfully get this 1.8a up to 2.4 once I finally get all of my parts together. Any suggestions on a HSF? Thanks again.
