i've noticed more and more people are getting greenie 1600's from newegg. a while back when i first joined, i had heard that the greenies were superor but a bastage to unlock. then it changed back to the brownies being superior.
my question is this. if i get two greenies from newegg, are they likely to be equal to brownies of the same week and stepping?
likely to be agoia y's at 02 12 or 02 13 as this is what has been consistently showing up. also, when did the greenies shift down from the 2100+'s? originally that's the only time you heard of someone having a greenie.
c'mon brownies! please show up...... x_X

Is AMD really manufacturing two different versions of the same chip at the same time? That sounds very weird.

greens are def better
i have a brown AGOIA Y 0213 and with 1.85v the highest i can go is 1750mhz. With 1.95v the higest is 1790mhz.
on the green AGOIA Y 0213's people are getting near 1900mhz on only 1.8v!!!!
yes i have burned this in and yes i have great temps and YES IT IS UNLOCKED.
but i had a green 1900 AGKGA Y that would only do 1720mhz at 1.85v which sucked hard!

i guess i'll ask jbslow about it then cause i'm using them in smp. his brownies are doing better. maybe i'll ask if they're on pretty much the same system.
they're both running on the same mobo and all, so i would assume there is a difference in his systems since the greenies are running 50-100mhz slower, lol.

Well, my brown 1800 died, and my green one didn’t. That’s all I can say.

I think youll be surprised when you get the water in there, it made a major difference.
at first i was stuckat 1940, then i reapplied my thermal paste and resated the wb carefully and all was good after that
i would leave it at 2015 but my ram cant hang, i have to turn the timings down so low at 192-3 fsb that its not worth it
but the cpu is very capable thanks to the water

Uh...todd....not to be a sig nazi but you should probably remove the link their. Read the forum policy on sigs (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58341)
