Hm, I'm not sure if it's only me, but that link doesn't seem to work. Something about "not valid project id".

Hey nice score! I'm still aiming for breaking that 10,000 mark w/ my system. So far im at 9806. I figure a lil more oc on the vid card and a couple more tweaks and I'll reach it. :p

Hey guys.. What drivers you using?
What OS?

I'm using an OEM radeon 8500.... well... the rest is in the sig... and i can only get 7200 when i overclock everything. Right now my computer is at stock .... b/c I don't need the extra speed.

It's prolly b/c of my dualie... and the card is only a 64 meg.

I'm using xp pro.

The drover from the ATI website only does 7500 for me (stock)I can OC that driver and get 8400. I tried a different driver and I can get... well you saw what I could get when I OC'd it. However.. I crashed alot with that driver.. I don't know if I didn't uninstall the other correctly or what, but it crashed. So I reformatted and I am using the same driver right off ATI because I want to play stable games... for now.

I'm using the new catalyst 2.2 drivers from ati's website. They seem to be working fairly well.

Nice. The XP drivers seem alot better than the 2k. The default XP score I get without any overclock is 8800. BUT since I do not have the "bought" version I can't get updates and therefore my system is highly unstable. I am going to purchase XP when I get an extra $150 bucks.

Picked one up tonight as a cheap layover and to play with it some as I have never owned an ATI. Seems one needs to hit 11500 or so to make page one at the ORB. Any advise from anyone? I played with it a little tonight. The card is unmodded and is a 8500 LE at 250mhz. Present score is here:

http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4215828

Am using the cat 2.2 on 98se. Am still trying to figure out whether it prefers fsb or multiplier. The above run was made at 183.5/183.5 with stock cooling and voltage. CPU was at 183 x 12 for 2.2Ghz. Had some difficulty getting the card to run stable but all seems good now. Alot of it is learning I am sure. Still think this card is a good buy (probably the best) for the money and ahead of its' time when introduced as evidenced by its age and potential against even todays cards. I do feel though that it is about to be trounced by both ATI and Nvidia for good. Will make a great backup card though in the unfortunate (and likely) event of a fried card.

So, any advice from you guys on cranking up the scores/performance while still maintaining a degree of sanity?

Good luck to all.:)

Wow! Good job!

btw, Silver, is it me or did it say:
"AMD Duron(tm) Processor 2250 MHz"
Duron @ 2.25Ghz?!? That's insane!

3dmark2001se recognizes the tbreds as durons since the chips are very new and haven't been patched into 3dmark yet.

its an xp2200 oc'd to 2250mhz which is totally badass.

Figure I am missing an 800 point tweak somewhere. Anyone have any hot tips on 3drage settings? Could sure use one or two but will find them regardless. System has not been tweaked. Am running the new dual pelt cold plate. Sanded the GPU tonight and screwed on a 1U cooler along with a 30cfm TT fan. Card now runs 301/602. I shall push it a little more but ram sinks will be the next mod. As of now there are no vmods. Card is a 128 meg 8500LE with 3.6 ram. Latest score is:

I do not remember my Ti4400 running at this speed stock. As a matter of fact I do believe that this is in Ti4600 stock territory for a couple of hundred less. How can this be a bad buy and for that matter I do not understand why oc'ers that have no back up card do not pick one up. If the inevitable happens on an expensive oc'ed card then this would make an excellent back up card and very usable.:)

Hey Silver,

Great score you have got, but I think you have more potential in your system.

Here is my score with a P4 @ 2.5Ghz and card running 300/620. With your CPU I think you should expect a bit more ;)

I seem to be missing something. You are running the card faster 301/602 vs 300/620 , running the Intel at 2.5GHz vs 2.25Ghz, using windows XP vs windows 98se and I still have you by 1,000 points. Hmmm.....you are in fact right. I expect more. In fact I expect to break 12g which is an acceptable level without doing any heavy mods. Now all I have to do is learn this card. If it were a Nvidia then dialing it in would be fairly easy for me. Not being familiar with Radeons it may take a little longer. Do give me a little time to play with it though. :)

Heck, I don't even have ram sinks on yet.;)
