View Full Version : Holy crap! 2.7GHZ on 1.5V!!

1.8A set to 150FSB. Default voltage on a BD7-R. 100% Prime95 stable. Fricking amazing.

Check if the voltage really is 1,5. My BD-7raid sends a bit low voltage... But i can run my 1,8a at 1,25 volt and still overclock a bit :)...

I still trying to find this damn chip in Portugal.... but.. no luck soo far...
here's another guy that had the same luck as u... same SL86Q ;)

It can only be an SL68Q... to clock soo high at stock volt ;)

What's your Batch? Is it SL63X or SL68Q? What is the pack date? eg mine is 07/09/02 so the guys here can get the same batch as you. At last i am not the only one who does 2.7Ghz at default voltage. For more infor on my batch and date see this thread

Mine? 1.6 & I'm pretty sure I'll hit 150 with default vcore with 1.8 AS my 2.26 did that with default vcore, I kinda feel they're all the same, it's just the multiplier that makes the difference!

That's 1 day earlier than mine. It is should be the same batch as my P4-1.8A. At last it is proven that SL68Q of July 02 batch does perform pretty decent OC at default voltage though.

Actually thats not really true...I have a 1.8A from the EXACT SAME BATCH that requires 1.7V to hit 2.7GHZ....You never know what you're gonna get man.

1.8a's are a crap shoot.Chances are slim of getting a real good overclocker.

It is SL668, but what's the big thing about it? .. it does 150-155fsb on default vcore, then all the way to 1.85v to get 160-165!! if this what the new stepping is then it's CRAP! :) .. Rasie had or I should say still o/c'ed his 1.8 (batch SL63x) to 2.8~2.9Ghz with just 1.7 or less...buttom line, you will get this far with default vcore, then you will use it all on another 100~200mhz and I bet'cha on that :)

Just about fried my CPU today. I have a P4 2.0GHz. overclocked it to 2.7GHz and motherboard monitor told me 22 degrees at idle and like 42 degrees on full load. I then preceded with 3GHz and my computer locked up and when i rebooted it didn't elt me in because of corrupted files and was telling me about my CPU being way over heated. so i went into BIOS and there sat my CPU at like 65 degrees celsius. my motehrboard monitor program was wrong :mad: i had to reinstall and then everything was back to normal. Would to high of a overclock cause weird things and corrupted files to happen in windows? BTW i'm using my stock heatsink and fan.

what does VCore all do anyway? and what should happen if i don't change the VCore? i wasn't doing any full load tests at 2.7GHz. i was just toying around and admiring the speeds of it lol.

vcore, well, it will add stability at high FSBs, but NEVER EVER take it to 1.7v or more... it wil suck your cpu's life very quickly and lots fo ppl around here still want to get more than 1.8, :o
