I have most of my water cooling on the outside of my case since I can't fit it in the case. I was keeping my heater core on top of the case with my pump sitting on the table next to it. I decided to move it today and within a minute my CPU temp dropped by 2C. It's not that big of a case either. The head was maybe 1 foot above where it is now.
I am just surprised something this simple makes this much difference.

The temp was good before considering it's an overclocked XP 2200 at 1.85V's. I was at 56-57C (diode) idle and now I am sitting at 54C with occasional drops to 53C.

well dependingon the pump, 1 foot of head can be a significant difference in the flowrate. good luck

Head isnt a factor when dealing with closed loops systems (I am assuming its closed loop).

My sys has around 6 feet of head.......and my flowrate is lower because of the tubing length, not the head. What goes up, must come down. The water on the way down pulls the water coming up.....like siphoning....
