Im thinking some Altec Lancing 2.1 speakers and a nice decent quality sound card but im open to suggestions. I do about equal ammts of the following: gaming, net surfing, Listening to music, and watching DVDs, i can wear headphones and im fine for quality for everything if i wear headphones but the card doesnt have the quality (nor do the altec lancing OEM tower 2 channel cheepo speakers.) to produce anything music wise while listening to music or DVD, but i can do gaming fine. This is the system in my sig, the miles fast 2d audio is the what the software side of my PC calls the onboard audio. Im open to suggestions, im not wanting to spend more than 100 bux. Note that i will have to pay best buy to install it because my mom doesnt like the idea of me uninstalling the new and re-installing the old if a claim is required to me made on a warranty. Its annoying but ill live with it b/c it is her computer and i cant afford my own. (actuallu i have enough to get a nearly equivilant comp to hers but it wouldnt have the 19 inch trinitron monitor, plus in the long run im saving up to help pay for a trip to europe so i need to get a job and not blow all me cash on comps.

well 100 bux for a soundcard + decent altec lansing 2.1 speakers + best buy instalation. I never plan to spend big money, its always impulsive, which doesnt work over the net. Like before i orderd stuff over the net, or was really into computers, i got my crap gf4, i went to best buy planning to buy a GF2 but they didnt have them, and i ended up getting this POS, i wish i had gotten the gf3 ti 200 instead. I knew ti was better than MX but i thot that it went: gf3 ti 200, gf3 ti 500, gf4 mx 4*0. grr

ok its gonna b hard to spend 100 on a soundcard i think.. unless u buy it in a retail store. anyway i would definately look for sound blaster audigy OEM, or the cheapest u can find, definately dont go over your limit, audigy will last you years.. for id say at least 3 of your next computers..
