Hey all
I will be going to a dual XP1600+ system soon, and was wondering what you guys thought of the Volcano 9 fan? It's got a max CFM of 71 I think, max 4800RPM, seems pretty decent, though it is 45dba at max speed.
Would I be better off adding another block to my current system?
What do you guys think? W/C vs Volcano 9...

Its all really up to you, but I would go watercooling. I just got watercooling about a week ago and I think its great. It definitely beats the whine of the Delta 68cfm I was using before. But watercooling has many advantages, first you can get good temps without having to use a very noisy fan, you will be able to overclock more and I think the whole thing is just a lot of fun. :D

I agree with you on all points. I've had W/C on my system now for about 5 months and I love it. I just was not sure whether it would be more trouble with a dual system, IE: I would lose flow when splitting to each processor.
However, I must admit I do not miss the 46.5db whine of my FOP38 :)

I think the temp increase would be small and getting rid of that noise would be more than worth it.:D
Congratulations on going dual! :D
The sound of two HSFs in sync can be quiet annoying. I ran a pair of quite Glaciators for a couple of days. Watercooling was a big relief. Plumb it in series and it will work fine.
I've got my dualie here and im goin watercooling on it. The 2 fans in sync do get pretty annoying and like collin said just run it in a serial system and you wont lose that much flow at all. Another reason that I would go watercooling is since you have two major heat outputs in ur case being the two cpus, your case will need to have a couple more fans than a single cpu setup just to get your case temp to be decent. Buying less case fans will get ya some more money for that extra waterblock too.
