Man, this sucks. I only just bought a Visiontek GF3 last month. Guess I can kiss that warranty goodbye now :(.

this is just my opinion but i think the guys that write the articles are pretty gullable and have "sub-par" intelligence. doeasnt anyone remember when they had pictures of the radeon 9700 maxx?? sure they said it was a joke the next day but wouldnt you say that too if you fell for something so stupid?

anyway visiontek.com is still up and running and according to an article that visiontek released today they "have experienced explosive growth over the last year. Entering the European market and earning the number one spot in U.S." and "today announced that it has completed a plan to expand its manufacturing capabilities to include overseas production of aftermarket 3D graphics boards.".

seems to me that if you were having financial difficulty you wouldnt buy a whole new manufacturing plant... you would have spent that money on repaying your debts.

that doesnt mean that [H] is wrong but i think they are...again.

why do i always pick the companys that are going out of buisness?
first it was 3DFX (sniffel) now visiontek. who's next, AMD?

if AMD goes under i'll get back into R/C racing.

Heh. My previous v/c was from STB. They got eaten up by 3dfx a couple of months after I got their TNT.
DaddyB: that article on expnsion on Visiontek website is dated JUNE 18th.

First of all the article is presuming a bit much

If Visiontek was about to fold they would not have Motioned the courts or whomever to this fact:

"VisionTek was currently in motion to move it’s manufacturing to either China or Taiwan in order to cut costs associated with its products."

Usually a motion of this type is held in a chapter 7 or chapter 11 bancrupcy proceedings.

Kyles statement,

" So what is seems will happen is that VisionTek will simply cease to exist." is speculating and without statements from Visiontek its up in the air to what course they will take.

I have not read the finacial statements but I will, but the article to me means that Visionteks creditors are knocking and the Trustee is liquidating, but this means nothing since no bancrupcy actions have taken place.

If this turns out to be true this couldn't have come at a better time for ATIs 9700 release (tomorrow).

there is another thread about it here (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115169), I will believe it when i see it.

errr... I suppose somebody joined the two threads together now...kinda makes this post pointless. :D

True, this will help out ati quite a bit and hurt nVidia, although they were the most popular maker (im no expert but from what iv picked up) gainward and leadtech made a better card in the first place. I hope my Geforce 4 MX 440 doesnt break, vission tech made it (right of the shelves of best buy grr) although it going south would provide a good excuse to get a real vid card, i really dont want to dump the cash, i will either wait for the next generation to come out (like radeon 10ks or GF 6 equivilant generation although neither will probly be the names) or spring for a Geforce 4 ti 4200 after the new generations cut prices, or go for radeons 9500 when it comes out. (mid lvl card replacing 8500)

personally, i will never buy another visiontek product again. they screwed me out of my rebate, and did the same to my brother too. they don't honor their offers, and won't see my money again.....unless i deal with an affiliate of theirs........unknowingly............just my opinion.......

Wonder what will happen to their 'lifetime' warranty ????
