Need help with boot!

I just installed a new MB an asus P4533-C after hooking everything up i poped in the boot disk, and i select boot w/o CD support, and it then brings me to a command prompt. no comands work though. any idea whats wrong?

Is there a new hard drive with nothing on it in the machine, or did you just install the mobo into an existing setup? I ask this because if, for instance, you use a Win98 boot disk (FAT32) on say, a Win2000 or XP machine formatted with NTFS, it won't work because fat32 cannot see ntfs.
