If you dont ask, you dont find out though...Okay... I have modellers block (stupid pun I know) and I have a group of objects that I would like to turn into one object...

Its a little (I say little, its 8m front to back!) space fighter (I didnt make it, thank you to Mark Kane for the wonderful model!) and it came in 14 seperate pieces... I now have them in perfect positioning (I think the maths for the positioning blew my brain out) and parented them to the centre most item, which gives me full control over rotation, movement etc... but to save loads of time, I would like to have the pieces become one model, so that I can duplicate it without having to spend ages positioning again and again (I am looking at about 50 (!) of the fighters in the layout), as you can see, it would take flippin' ages to do this piece by piece!

I know what I want to do, but after several hours of the same mindnumbing rigmoral of getting the positioning right, I need this help! Thanks in advance!

Erm... I should mention I am using Lightwave 7.0b upgraded to 7.5...

"In the detail editor, take your spaceship, for example, and start chopping
it up into the pieces you want to fly apart when you explode it. Group
these pieces, with a plain axis as the parent. Create a state for this
object, selecting only the Grouping option. "

Is that simalar to what you are looking to do ?

Hope that helps. I did a little google search, and take no credit for the information in the above quotes, just passing it on.
