Corsair 3000 and 3200

I have a stick of Corsair 3000 XMS Cas 2,and was wondering if I got a stick of 3200 XMS Cas 2 if it would work along side the 3000?
I know one is 370 Mhz and one is 400,but will they work together.
Also do I really need 512 worth of ram?
I do some Nascar gaming and Seti is about it..What do ya think??

They will work together no problem, just that you might not OC as high as with 2 sticks of 3200.

For the memory, it depends on which OS you are using. I know that 512Mb work well with XP, but 98se only needs about 256Mb. If you are not doing any memory intensive work(3d animations, rending, Video editing), then 256Mb should be quite enough for you.
