HEy ive got a new Radeon 9000 PRO 128mb DDR in the mail right now, bought it for 95 dollars :-)

my question is, how well can i OC this card? Ihave a blue orb sitting around here, do you think if i switched out the stock HS and fan the orb and some silicon gell would help? (The silicon will be temporary, untill i can get some as3, prolly 1 week or so. Im looking to show u my friends and there pathetic intel and Nvidia cards, i want to show them the true meaning of power :-) look at my system below and let me no how to OC this card GOOD.

btw i have rage3d already on my radeon ve, should i format just to ake sure the drivers are all gone?

You should note that the thermal paste or Arctic Silver 3 for that matter wont be a good suitor in itself.

Reason I say this is that the Radeons do not use pushpins and the stock heatsink is affixed with thermal adhesive.

If you want to remove the stock ramsinks, place the card in an anti static bag and place the card in the freezer for 20 minutes.

Then take a credit card and place it on the boards PCB butting against the stock heatsink. Then take a butterknife and place that on top of the credit card and give it a gentle twist and the ATI heatsink will pop off.

But you should use Arctic Silver adhesive or Arctic Alumina adhesive to affix the new heatsink. Many people use a couple drops of superglue in the corners, but I do not like to recommend that method as superglue isn't the right way to do it for many reasons.

You can pick up Arctic Silver or Alumina adhesive here cheap with free shipping

PS heres a pic of the 9000(You can see no pushpins are to be found, Also if you plan on adding ramsinks buy the Arctic alumina thermal adhesive, not the arctic silver adhesive)

PSS A Format wont be necessary since both cards use the same drivers

I wouldn't say your going to show Nvidia card what true power is. After all look at the scores here with the same CPU as you GF4 TI4200 (http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectsearch) GF4 TI4400 (http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectsearch) GF4 TI4600 (http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectsearch) Radeon 9000 (http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectsearch)

Those are 3dmark scores and by that are terrible and inaccurate comparisons to each other. Use real games to benchmark the cards not some synthetic benchmarks.

First off i cant see the results for some reason, and second off im getting the 128 meg version, im going to get some RAM sinks, agett a second block for y water system to put on it, on OC my processor some more, i hope to 1.9. Is there any way for me to beat out a kid with a p2 2.2 and a gefoce 4 ti? im not sure what ti# but ithink its the best there is

Here`s a score for a guy with a P4 2.2 and a GF4 Ti4600. Score 11564 iXBT.com/Digit-Life.com benchmark for GF4 Ti4600

Doubt you will beat a P4 2.2 and a Ti4200 or 4400 with your system and a 9000 128 DDR Pro.

The 9000 is not any better than a 128 8500 in LE or regular version. It does have some benefits but overall I would give the edge to an overclocked 8500 vs a 9000

You should have waitd for the 9500 if you could have, imho.

Interested to see what you score in 3D Mark 2K1 se , my score is 9804 with my sig below , no cpu overclock.

good luck with overclocking it keep us posted to your progress.

NP first thing im gunna do is jump into a game and try this sucker out! i dont ahve much of a refrence, since im running a radon VE right now(i know, i know "Owned") But im going to mabe buy some ramsinks and a new waterblock and stick them on it to see what kind of OC i can get from it, hopfully i wont get any graphical slowdowns, if i do im going to be very upset.......
