Well....I have this pump currently-I bought a kit a while ago from cool-computers.com. I used to have a midtower and was just cooling the cpu, and it worked great for that. But recently, I got a full tower and I am cooling the gpu as well. This starts to worry me because the radiator is at the top, and doing a search on the rio-180 tells me that they aren't quite the most reliable pumps (or the strongest..) SO.....i was thinking about the Eheim 1048 (158gph) Pump. But here are my questions...

is it really worth the money? Right now i am getting 39 deg c under a full load with that little pump, so apparently its strong enough.....

and, if i do get it, could i easily just keep the res in the system and pump the pump inline with it?

Thanks...

I have the same pump for my 800 Celeron at 1066. For that it cools pretty good. However you might be lucky to get 85g.p.h. out of that pump.

I've been using mine for close to a year now practically 24/7. No problems with it breaking down on me or anything like that.

Trusty little thing.. I'm putting it into my new system when I get all my parts together... things will pretty much be on the same level, except for the water block (which takes a dip into the case, heh) but that shouldn't hurt it too much.. As a point of refference I've always kept the pump as parrellel with the rest of the system as possible. Radiator sits the highest, pump is around the same height as the CPU (external rad/res)

My new system I'm just gonna chuck everything ontop of the case on a wood board and build a box around it I think. Don't expect any problems from the pump at least
