led color question

i just picked up some LED's to do a dual volt / led baybus. Red LED for 12v / white LED for 7v. i just tested the white LED's but they shine red??.....

should this be. and if not would some one like some red LED's for some blue or white.....

If you asked for a white LED and it shines red you should take it back, if you bought the LED because you thought it would shine white you made a mistake, you can also buy multi-color, blue, red, green, yellow....LED's with a clear lens.

You should definitely take them back. REd LEDS are always cheaper then blue or white. You can find them for 3/ $.99. The white and blues usually cost more then a dollar for each.

Nobody will trade you red for any other color!
