Fan question

I got a question.
When they say a fan is a 3 pin or a 4 pin, does this mean the power connector?
I would really like to know.
I know the power supply on the mobo for a fan uses a 3 pin. Does the Abit KT7A have one of these.
I know these are dumb questions, but i am confused!!!!

Yes it reffers to the power connecter. You can get 3 to 4 pin adapter for under $1
