Okay, this is my acryllic waterblock in the making. now I have a problem lapping this sucker. The sides are raised a bit (and the acryllic sides go down to where the raised sides are)

Check the pic below

So, I think I have three choices, I'm not master at la[ping, sthat's why I'm asking

1. I can use the wet/dry sandpaper with heavy grit and take out that raised, but it'll cost me some more moolah (and i'm cheap) for the extra sandpaper (I'm thinking it'll take alot to kill that raise)

2. I have some brown sandpaper (it's alight brown, i think it's for wood) and it says P220 on the back, so I think it's 220 grit. Will that work?

3. I can get a very small piece of acrullic (the size of a quarter. Strap some sandpaper on to there and rub it in the middle so I lap only the part wher eit's sinking. But would this affect the performance in any way?

converting a heatsink into a water block ? how r u going to mount it ?

that heatsync was "held" on by thermal paste and used the recess to grasp the cpu----- shouldnt have used that heatsink-

use the brown P220, once the base is level, you may need to get some 600 grit wet and dry to finnish it off, but you will not need anything else

pkie sounds good OCer.

btwm, to mount it I'm going to make one of those lexan (or in my case, acryllic) hold downs. With screwes, nuts and hopefully springs

sounds good, just make sure the springs are tense enough, the danger den maze 2 has a problem because it does not supply enough pressure with the springs.

I personally do not like springs, when i mounted my becooling block, i used gromets instead of springs, they compressed a bit but could give more pressure - however i used a shim, if i hadn't my cpu would have been crushed.

I'll make a new thread and some diagrams when the time comes overclocker...but now...

FINALLY...3 HOURS AFTER (mayeb 4, ican't rememeber), I finally sanded the dang ridges down. And I haven't even began to lap yet! (well, the real lapping job), at least now I can skip the 200 grit and go to the 400-600 grit...sheesh, my hands are hurting
