Hi all , i have a waterkewled rig and at the moment the rez is inside the house , its just a cheep 10 galon pale type setup but its working for what i need , anyway its getting back to winter here very soon and i will be placing the rez outside in the snow, it will be in -30 and lower temps constantly maybe -50 at night, i know this will create condensation so i was wondering if there is like a spray on protectent i could spray on my mobo and also
insulation for the lines ? thanx for your help ppl =)

Read the insulating tips for TEC's(peltiers) If you are gona place your rad in -50c temps. I thought about doing that when winter hits here. I just might pit rad in deepfreeze first to try it. And use good antifreeze. Dont want the waterlines to freeze up, cpu will burn up.
BTW, where in sam h#!! in Canada are you. -50? Are you nutz?
we maybe have a couple of weeks that it gets to -30 here.

Edmonton, I have some relatives and friends that live near there. I,ve been there in the winter and, yes it does get cold.
On the cooling the comp thing, I was acctually thinking about getting one of theose 12/120v traven coolers to put my rad in and see how that makes my comp run.
Hi guys,
Just thought I'd chip in here since I too am from Edmonton.
I am into Vapochill's... I have 2. The one thats running has an
XP2000+ @1850. Its modded and fit into a LianLi pc70. The other is brand new and going int a black pc75 LianLi window case reserved for the next intel price drop on the long weekend.
Proly go with a 2.26 and a 333 board as yet undecided.
nice to see some local guys here on o/c ers forums.
regards,
mike

UUUHH, I'm from Yellowknife NT, and EDMONTON does not get regular Minus 50 temperatures. Don't even try to say its cold there. Maybe 40. We get weeks of -45 weather here. Windshield doesn't count. ANYWAYS. Unless your CONSTANTLY running the CPU, your water is going to freeze, even at your MINUS 30. How long will your hose be to your res... outside.. you will need a very powerful pump or several in series to move that water... just some thoughts from Yellowknife, NWT, Canada's ARCTIC.

Yep only like a 4 hp compressor :)
I have a compressor like that,I could build a system like that. But they are 220v and I dont want to mess with installng 220v in my room....
Guess I will stick with my 110v phase change systems :)
why not put the pc in a waterproof box and then bury it in the snow? that way the ambient air temp will be like 0C or -20C and you wuldn't have any condensation because in side and outside temps are equall....
