I’ve seen that some shop are selling the Northwood 2500Mhz with a 400FSB for just 333.- Euro this is just 40.- Euro more than what the 2.26 cost.
I want if anyone has any oc experience with these CPU’s .

Intel doesn't make a 2.5Gz P4 Northwood with a 400Mhz FSB, the only one they make that's close is the 2.53Ghz with a 533Mhz FSB.

i know all about the 2.53 with the 533FSB, but i find it stragne that 4 shops have made the same typo.
i'm now trying to call and ask them about it now.
they might be taking a 1.8a and overclocking it.a 1.8a should be pretty stable at 2.5, but if they are, shame on them.

Wait, how recently did a 2.5/400 show up in these shops? Are they advertising 2.6s and 2.8s as well?

Then I'll bet you anything it's a new chip with a new core. It should overclock well compared to the 2.66 and 2.8. However, the ratio is 1:25, so a) make sure your board can support it and b) don't get too carried away with the fsb.

if thats true its very good news, my 1.8a is getting old and i'm upgraden my mainboard too. (to a asus p4s8x)
i think for 333.- its damn cheap.
i hope to hit the big 3.5Ghz with this rig, cooling shouldnt be a problem, i got a prometeia.
i doubt you'll hit 3.5ghz with that chip. the multiplier is just too high. 25x100 is pretty crazy... good luck even getting to 3ghz.
if i was spending your money i'd definately go with the 2.26b with a much lower multiplier (17x133).

well... thats true. in this case you'd probably be best on air with a 2.26b, but i'm positive you won't get to 3.5ghz even with the promethia on a chip with a multiplier of 25

_If_ it has the new core, which my guess is it will, then it will o/c better than a 2.4a. Of course that's not saying much. But 3.1G could be realistic with good cooling and 3.3 with very good cooling. I still wouldn't push the voltage too hard on it though.

This site here shows a price listing for a 2.5 so I guess they do exist out there somewhere.
