Finally finished my window mod.
Here's what I started with.

So, add a cold cathode in. And cut a window... Piece of cake.
My best friend here.

Window shape is this:

Already finished cut in that pic, also painted it a bit, I wanted it to look like burned out. :)

Of course a switch for the light was a must.

Here's the case couple days ago. Not finished...

The window outline was covered with a electric wire rubber, I gutted an old wire and glued it to the side.

And then the last 2 pics, taken about 10 minutes ago.

Nice looking!!! I like that idea of the "burned out" effect around the window, really original!

Thank thee for the kind words. I'm still thinking about etching some image on the window and then adding 2 blue LED's on the top so the etched picture would glow.

Looks nice. Like the idea of the burnt effect. Its soo hard to come up with original mods now.

yes, the burnt effect is great, i might also suggest that the top is a bit dim, if you put LEDs to light an etching it would be plenty of light, the CC just cant quite reach the top.

You could do a dual color zone. Red @ the bootom and another color like blue at the top. I have done it and it looks pretty cool
w00r, nice SETI Cruncher =] We have the same case just that yours has the panel in front. Anyways, the holes are a pain to work with.

Update to casemod.
Added 2 superbright blue LED's to illuminate the window, it's not finished yet, still going to etch something on the window. 3 pics following:
Cathode on, LED's on, flash on.

EDIT: I need some ideas for the etching. I was thinking of making a logo of Turrican to it. But I'm not really sure yet.
Turrican logo here...

Off-topic question, but did you paint your case? I love that color!
Anyway, I think that logo would look really good. Except I wouldn't try to etch all the flames in the background, just the text. I think it would look much cleaner that way.

No I didn't really paint the case, it was blue when I bought it, only painted the burn around the window and some of the front.

Did you use tracing/wax paper over the Window, then etch it, or did you just etch it on there freehand

I printed a black&white pic, taped it to the backside, and then etched it as good as I was able to, it wasn't that hard.
Nice job!!! Thats a great looking case.
