I've got an old (late 1998) Gateway comp, that I've upgraded everything in it, pretty much, except for the mobo, processor, and PSU. So i am asking, because recently I have got highly involved in the purchasing of a fan mod for my Radeon 7000 (yeh, I know, but I wanna O/C) and then some other fans that it has been missing, and basic general cooling and all.
Anyway, since I only have two connector leads (the red yellow and black one) and by leads, i mean a set of wires coming from my PSU, so each can only take up a certain amount.
I am wondering, if there is way for me to check how much voltage and wattage per lead is allowed, and then if you can tell me how many molex connectors and devices I can put on each lead.
Right now, the first one is used on 4 (or 3, i dunno how the 3 1/2" drive gets juice) external drives, and so there are no more.
The 2nd one is currently connected into my HD and a PCI fan I just got. Now, I am getting a ThermalTake Crystal Orb, tossing (:p) that onto my graphix card, and I am also getting a new 80mm fan to go in there as exhaust.
I can probably get the wattage useage for each of the fans (the PCI, the Crystal Orb, and the other 80mm) but I am wondering these things:
1. How I can find out the wattage usage of my Western Digital 80GB harddrive, product #WD800.
2. If I can be sure that the second lead can plug into the harddrive, the crystal orb fan, the pci fan, and the 80mm fan without causing any problems or stealing of too much wattage.
3. If the total load will "blow up" the PSU with my 4 external drives, the entire mobo and processor, a fan in the PSU, the 80GB HD, all the pci slot cards, the pci fan, the 80mm fan, and the crystal orb fan.
BTW, one last thing, the PSU say its a 200W/700mA PSU (sucks, I know). So thats important for us to know the PSU's supply. Also, look in my sig, I should have updated it with the rest of my computers details.
Lemme know, I appreciate your help, Thanks! :D
