View Full Version : Chipset Cooler on ASUS-A7V133?
Is it worth changing the fan/heatsink on the northbridge chipset?
Are there better alternatives that offer
1. lower noise levels (main objective)?
2. better cooling?
If so what are they and where can I buy in the UK?
Thanks,
Greg
I put a blue orb on my mobo. It was cheap and seems to work well. $8.50

I like to think of my case as relatively quiet. That said, I never even noticed the noise of the A7V133 chipset cooler. If you have a couple of other fans in your case, they will just drown it out.
That said, if your main objective is noise, and you're not attempting to run your machine at over 133MHz. You may be able to remove the fan from the chipset entirely and just have it run with passive cooling.
