it depends on many things which one is good for you. check the fittings on your waterblock and radiator. 3/8 is the most popular. i use 1/2. 1/2 has a bigger diameter

R-1000 Peristaltic Pump Tubing 1/2" I.D. 3/4" O.D. and 1/8"" wall is a good choice in 3/8"ID or 1/2"ID (THE 1/8" wall is best as its prone to not kink over the 1/16" wall)

Also the Formulation R-3603 Tubing in 3/8"id and 1/2"id is a great choice.

Ive tried both of these and they are both good choices.

I have both the 1000 and the 3603 and I prefer the 3603 more since its a lot more stiff and can bend a slightly tighter radius than the 1000. Just my .02. I would go with the 1/8" walls. 3/8 or 1/2, go off of what you have as far as the fittings on your block and rad.

What exactly is Tygon tubing and how does it compare to silicon and how does that compare to regular PVC?

and how does it compare to the teflon?

Tygon tubing is actually a brand name for a high quality PVC tubing... it contains proprietary additives to keep it from aging and becomming brittle like normal PVC.

What is better Tygon or Silicon?

How long does PVC tubbing last before becoming brittle in a water cooling setup?

Well, I don't know about in a watercooling setup, but we have some PVC tubing connected to our vacuum pump at work that's old, and it is still pliable (but it does look old... it's very discoloured). Silicone is a reasonable alternative, but be warned, it is slightly porous, and you will have some evaporation through the tubing (as well as some leaching of addatives).

Does anyone in Canada sell tygon tubing? Home Depot? Canadian Tire? Any of those stores?

Not that I have found... the two Home Depots in Markham do not for sure.

FYI

I compared 1/2" ID 1/4" wall Tygon to the same dimensions Vinyl, and could not tell the difference.

what should i get from this page?
http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=Tygon+Tubing&product%5Fid=Tygon++Clear+Vacuum+Tubing++++9%2F16+ Inch+O%2ED%2E++thru++2%22+O%2ED%2E+Inch

i am going to run a 1/2" setup. since my block and radiator are 1/2"

also, when it says sold in 5 feet intervals, does that mean the price listed is for 5 feet? like the first one says $4.08 so thats $4.08 for 5 feet right?

the prices listed are per foot. You just have to add intervals of 10' to your cart.

Just to let you know, they overcharge you on shipping. I was going to purchase some tygon from them but the shipping cost was 50% of the price of the order:eek:.

i am using plain old 1/2 inch tubing from the home depot, and its great.:) it would depend on what type of fittings you have on your stuff to figure out which size hose to get, but i think 1/2 inch cools alot better.:D

also, just my 2 cents.;)

I compared the price and I found the difference :)

On usplastic.com 25' of 3/8" ID 1/8" wall is $7.25, 10' of 1/2" ID 1/8" all is $3.60. You can have 10' of vinyl for less than the price of 1' of tygon.

honestly i think the vinyl has VERY similar bend characteristics, if not the same.
we are talking 1/4" wall here.

TYGON IS FOR CHEMICALS and thats why it costs so much.

other than that, i see no advantage.
