The dark 3d buttons and everything go with my Windows theme, awsome. I like how the online indicator is bigger, and brighter!
I know it aint done but the start is looking like crazy.

Just a suggestion, don't work yourself too hard, but if you could give options for the buttons or overall look in the User CP such as blue, silver, etc. that would be cool :cool:
Yeah, that would be awesome!! Of course, the reason I'd like it is cuz I like the blue buttons better :rolleyes: But the black is a nice look too.

any way to get a different way for the online/offline thing to work? its kinda hard to see and i hafta specifically look at it if i wanna know. other sites i frequent use a light bulb dark and lit which is easy to see in your peripheral vision.
this has kinda bugged my ever since joining... actually the first few weeks i couldn't tell if anyone was online or offline cause i didn't know what the ! meant. not a big deal... just a little nitpick. :D

the little blue box with the ! in it on these forums. i'm not saying to do something different with what we are using... i would like something thats closer to the body of the post and a little more contrasting on/off.

Its the little blue square on the bottom left hand corner of the section where the member name/avatar is....blue is offline, blue w/ ! is online

Ok, something was done to the Rank/Member since/Location part, but I cant figure out what. Are they just like rearranged, or what?

Were you planning to keep the main cell the same color of the cell with the avatar etc?
I think it would be good just that since we're just used to the grey color it seems weird.

How about background color #333333 w/ white font. I think it goes well :D Abit darker :D
PS: I think this would look good on all cells like avatar, the profile buttons, main text window and time etc.

JigPu I concur, JigPu--I like the blue buttons better. I'm having a harder time reading the 'chrome effect' buttons. Blue just seemed to go better with the existing color scheme, as well.
Also, the black type on dark grey background is very difficult to see as well.

Yes I agree, the white text on such a dark background seems to glare at me and makes it hard to read big posts.

How bout a grey/silver font? :D I think dark colors are real cool however it's just hard to work with.
I think this isn't bad. Very easy to read...
font is a bit bright. maybe a bit toned down and i think it'll be ok.

It too hard on the eyes to read. It becomes a pain after awhile staring at it. Even though it looks nice I would like to keep my eyes :D

Only problem is that blue seems to be hard on the eyes now on this background, I guess I like a lighter background a little bit more...but thats just my opinion don't let it dictate you

I'd stay away from textures. Certain things can be very hard to read with them.
I really don't like blue, it doesn't go with the rest of the black of the site. I personally liked the dark grey background w/ the silver text. I found that easy on the eyes and really easy to read.

True...If we make the buttons the 3d look, but in blue, and do a little texture thing to the other backgrounds, Itd be the best, but thats quite a tall work order, so its probably not practical...

Try that yellow over the original dark blue background (just once, please).

What about the borders that are light blue now being yellow, and the dark blue that goes between the borders in some spots being a tad bit darker? that might look good :)
the cells need to stay different colors to signify the space change. all the same color would look very blah unless its all totally dark. not this dark grey thing we've got going on.
Don't like them all the same.

Hmmm...should we do anything to the stars, or just leave them be?
The date/time stamp cell and the button cell should both be black to demarcate a solid line to denote beginnings and ends of posts.

And here i am saying I like your idea!;) Cut me some slack I have be watching my kids for the last 5 hours. How hard would it be to show our post count somewhere by the register date. I like to see just how many posts I have plus the other members. And maxvla i dont think the post count will go high enough for you, skip does not have enough processing power to show that number on screen. :D :D :D

Don't go there..... Postcount is removed for a reason and won't come back. Click on the Users profile button to see post count.
We had way to much spamming going on just to get a higher post count. It was out of control.

There is one thing I dont know if it is on your end or mine though. As I come here it says welcome daddy of 2, but every now and then when i click to post a reply or to edit one of my posts it tells me i am not logged in. Even though i have posted a reply a few times before then. I still like the look of the forum now even though you made me :cry:

Check the edit of my last post, I changed the offline icon so it would line up with the online icon. I was just too slow to edit it in time.

I tried black text with yellow glow, and white text with yellow glow, and yellow text with white glow, and black text with white glow with yellow over it, and the last one looked best, so that's what I posted.
Skip, if you want something changed, just say so. =)

Looking good. One complaint. I hate the 1 post within 60 seconds. When I go to read my mail and reply to the posts I do a few at a time. Now I have to wait 60 seconds. I prefer 15 seconds, but I would comprimise at 30. What do you say Skip?

but yeah. gets annoying when i have several browser windows open. 30 seconds would be nice, but i'm sure skip has his reasons.

It's probably due to bandwidth issues, so spacing out the times when people can post will reduce the 404 errors that spontaneously occur when forum wh0ring...:D

i agree. does anyone else also think that only the light bulb would be enough, without the viewable description?
its kinda odd since thats what the light bulb is supposed to mean.
i personally like having the word there just cause it has more color so it shows up better. its alot easier to tell if someone is online if there's more to see.

I like the text, 'cause I'm dumb enough not to know what the lightbulb means without it. ;)
btw, one of the most curious posts ive ever read here in the forums is the Administrator skip's one a few before saying he had never noticed the online/offline indicator.
well, most ppl probably prefer it with the word beside. i would trade it for a bigger light bulb with the description showing only with the cursor over it. i found many cool light bulbs on internet when skip requested it.
i would be glad to help if ppl decide only the light bulb is also cool.

more and more of these forum mods every second! In the hour I've been on tonight the names have changed to a cool highlighted blue. I dig pretty much everything except the new 'user cp register....etc' buttons, kinda hard to read, not that it matters since i know them all anyways.

AH! since i started typing that the online indicator and name size changed! Its pandimonium!
skip, take a look at the left bar in this thread (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=117469).
its like if the bar was resizeable, depending on the lenght of the description in Location..
Wierd. I'll look into that.
