Greetings all, I have a MSI K7D Master-L, and just wanted to make sure what kind of RAM I can use with this thing...I don't know what registered, unbuffered, chip stacking, blah blah means..

What can I use?

if you knpow exactly the model number of your board go here (http://www.crucial.com/store/listmodel.asp?cat=RAM&mfr=MSI+%28Micro+Star%29&productline=Motherboards&submit=Go) and choose it from the drop down menu. after that youll find a link to the "detail specs" of the board where there is the RAM supported by it.

in the case yours is in fact the K7D Master (MS-6501), it has only the support for registered RAM.

if there is no specs in the details page, the kind of RAM listed are all the ones supported by the mainboard.

"The term "registered" refers to how the memory module processes signals. Registered modules contain a register that delays all information transferred to the module by one clock cycle. This type of memory is primarily used in servers and was designed for modules with 32 or more chips on them to help ensure that data is properly handled."

Check your user manual. I believe that you can run regular unbuffered unregistered DIMMs in slots 1 and 2
