Ok, what do I absolutely need to unlock? Can I find this stuff around the house...? If not, can I pick something cheap up at Home Depot? Thanks.

Some tape to mask off the contacts while you fill in the gap, a maginifier helps, come conductive paint (defogger paint cost about $6 at pep boys), a small pin to apply the conductive paint, a steady hand, and somethijng to fill that gap with (you'll get all kinds of recommendation i used super glue) cheap and effective.
