Duron Multiplier

Hi,
I have just unlocked my Duron 800 via the reconnection of the L1 bridges. With the multiplier set to 9 and FSB @100, my Duron appeared to be running at something like 730Mhz...?...What is going on here then?....

How are you verifying that the unlock worked. What are you using to tell you that the CPU is running at 730 mhz?

Go here http://www.h-oda.com/ and download wcpuid, it will tell you in windows what your current multipler is and your FSB.

me and one of my friends had the same problem with one of the 1600+'s because it wasnt fully unlocked but we tried a few more time then it started working

Im using SANDRA and WCPUID.....
After lots of rebooting and smoking (me)..i finally have it working..currently running my Duron 800 @ 920Mhz..with slight increase to the CPU Voltage..It runs about 4C hotter now...CAN I GO HIGHER??.....

i know the akca steping durons were amazing overclockers whats your steping?

burn in your cpu a little add more voltage (watch temps.. what are they currently?) i am sure you could hit 1 gig with that thing.

What are temps
What is vcore
what is max vcore
what motherboard is it?

1000 might be a bit too high i had 3 duron 800's and the max i got out of them was 1020 but that was at a vcore of 2.1 volts it took at least 2 volts for all of the cpus to even hit 1g and even then they seemed flaky yet they would run at 990 at 1.70 volts


it just seemed like they hit a wall or something

Full system specs? Your cooling at load? The 800 usually makes it to 1 gig.

MOBO: Abit KT7A
Duron 800 @ 932
FSB: 124.5Mhz
Vcore: 1.75v
Max Vcore: 1.85v
I/O Voltage: 3.5v...(dunno if thats good)
Multipier: 7.5

Via Hardware Monitor tells me 30c Temp...dosnt get much higer than that

Havent had the FSB much higher than this....

my system spec goes as follows with the durons i mentioned
shuttle ak31 version 3 motherboard
256 megs spectek ddr
msi tnt2 m64 agp video card
i was only able tpo get over 1 gig with the use of a volcanoe 7+ heatsink
these chips seem to be cooling limited bc they are smaller than athlons and still use aluminum interconects. the 800 mhz chips in question have me dumbfounded bc i had a 600 duron get as high as 1050 with 1.90 vcore yet all three 800's hit their wall at 1 gig
